EC Extends iTunes Response Deadline

Law360, New York (June 5, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Giving a break to Apple Computer Inc., the European Commission has extended the deadline for the company to respond to allegations that its agreements with a slew of major music labels have restricted cross-border access to Apple's online iTunes stores, in violation of antitrust laws.

Apple and the record companies, which include Universal Music and EMI Group, were supposed to respond to the EC's statement of objections, sent in early April, by Monday at midnight.
