Ex-World Fuel Exec Settles $1M Insider Trading Case

Law360, New York (August 3, 2011, 3:21 PM EDT) -- A former World Fuel Services Corp. executive implicated in a $1 million insider trading scheme agreed Monday to settle with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in Florida federal court rather than stand trial later this month.

Eric M. Gordon agreed to return his ill-gotten profits and pay undetermined civil penalties to the SEC, according to the consent judgment entered Monday. Gordon is the fourth of five defendants to strike a deal with the agency over alleged violations of federal securities laws.
