Duke Lacrosse DNA Tester Can't Revive Contract Claims

Law360, New York (August 3, 2011, 5:07 PM EDT) -- A North Carolina appeals court on Tuesday refused to revive contract claims brought by a DNA specialist who claims he was wrongfully fired after leaving exculpatory information out of a report concerning sexual assault allegations against several Duke University lacrosse players.

The appeals court largely upheld a county court's decision to grant summary judgment to DNA Security Inc. in a lawsuit lodged by former lab director Brian W. Meehan, whose employment was terminated in the aftermath of his work on the controversial 2006 rape case....
