Cordis Says Medtronic Stent Patents Unenforceable

Law360 (June 6, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Cordis Corp. fired back on Tuesday to a suit in which Medtronic Inc. accused it of infringing two patents for coronary stents, arguing that the two patents at issue are unenforceable due to inequitable conduct.

Cordis filed the 15-page amended answer and counterclaims in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas in response to Medtronic's March 16 complaint alleging that Cordis' Velocity and Cypher stents infringed U.S. Patent Numbers 6,881,223 B2 and 6,887,264 B2.
