Bacardi’s Havana Club Brand Not Misleading: 3rd Circ.

Law360, New York (August 4, 2011, 5:04 PM EDT) -- The Third Circuit on Thursday affirmed a lower court's ruling that Bacardi USA Inc.'s Havana Club-brand rum does not falsely advertise Cuba as the rum's place of origin, as had been alleged by rival alcoholic beverage distributor Pernod Ricard USA LLC.

The label on Bacardi's Havana Club rum bottle clearly states that it was made in Puerto Rico, according to the opinion.
