Enviros Fight Proposed Del. River Basin Fracking Regs

Law360, New York (August 5, 2011, 1:54 PM EDT) -- Regulators of the Delaware River Basin, which provides 50 percent of New York City's drinking water, were wrong to propose hydraulic fracturing regulations without analyzing how fracking would affect the environment, according to a suit filed in New York on Thursday.

The suit, filed by the Hudson and Delaware riverkeepers, claims the Delaware River Basin Commission and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers violated the National Environmental Policy Act by releasing draft regulations without performing an environmental impact statement.
