Ex-Cisco Engineer Charged With Hacking

Law360, New York (August 5, 2011, 2:01 PM EDT) -- A former Cisco Systems Inc. technical engineer was indicted Wednesday in California on hacking charges, the latest twist in a long-running case involving antitrust and copyright infringement claims between Cisco and the worker as well as a blocked extradition.

Peter Alfred-Adekeye, a citizen of Nigeria and the U.K., faces five counts of intentionally accessing a protected computer without authorization and obtaining information exceeding $5,000 in value, based on his alleged misuse of Cisco log-in credentials between 2005 and 2007.
