Imprisoned Money Manager Starr Disbarred

Law360, New York (August 5, 2011, 2:10 PM EDT) -- A New York state appeals court on Thursday disbarred disgraced attorney and money manager Kenneth Ira Starr, who is currently serving 7 1/2 years for stealing about $24 million from celebrity clients and fraudulently investing another $9 million.

The New York Supreme Court Appellate Division's Departmental Disciplinary Committee instituted the proceedings, which Starr did not contest, arguing that the attorney's past misdeeds should result in his automatic disbarment.
