Nucor Tries To Revive Duties On Steel From Brazil, Japan

Law360, San Diego (August 8, 2011, 8:32 PM EDT) -- The U.S. government’s decision to withdraw duties on hot-rolled steel from Brazil and Japan faced new fire Friday in the form of a complaint brought by Nucor Corp. in the U.S. Court of International Trade.

Nucor, a steelmaker based in Charlotte, N.C., wants a judicial review of the U.S. International Trade Commission’s determination in June that revoking anti-dumping duty orders on hot-rolled flat-rolled carbon-quality steel from Brazil and Japan, as well as a countervailing duty order on steel products from Brazil, would not likely translate to...
