Fund's Suit Against JPMorgan Over '06 Collapse Tossed

Law360, New York (August 8, 2011, 4:37 PM EDT) -- A New York state court judge on Friday dismissed Amaranth Advisors LLC’s lawsuit against JPMorgan Chase & Co. claiming the investment bank contributed to the hedge fund's spectacular 2006 collapse. 

Judge O. Peter Sherwood awarded summary judgment to JPMorgan, dismissing the only remaining claim in the case, tortious interference, after ruling that Amaranth could not “rely solely on hearsay or conclusory allegations,” according to the order.
