JPMorgan, Lehman Spar Over Where $8.6B Case Belongs

Law360, New York (August 8, 2011, 4:55 PM EDT) -- JPMorgan Chase Bank NA and Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. filed competing motions Friday over whether the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in the Anna Nicole Smith case meant Lehman's suit alleging JPMorgan looted it out of $8.6 billion could not be heard in bankruptcy court.

The motions came in response to the court's June 29 request that the parties submit memoranda addressing the effect of the high court's ruling in Stern v. Marshall on the case at bar. JPMorgan argues that Stern bars the New York bankruptcy...
