New Source Review Fight About To Heat Up

Law360, New York (June 7, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- As the Bush Administration prepares to make changes to the Clean Air Act's new source review program, industry and environmental advocates are gearing up for an expected legal fight.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency, the rule changes will have very little effect on air quality and will improve the safety, reliability and efficiency of existing power plants. But environmental groups and their allies argue that the rule changes will merely allow the power industry to avoid upgrading the oldest and most polluting plants.
