Commerce To Subsidize Domestic Wool Fabric Makers

Law360, New York (August 9, 2011, 5:50 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce said Tuesday that it will hand out more than $5.3 million in subsidies to domestic manufacturers of worsted wool fabrics.

The federal government is making the funds available to two groups of U.S. manufacturers of fabrics that contain at least 85 percent wool, according to a notice published in the Federal Register. The groups will each get more than $2.6 million, split between manufacturers based on their percentage share of production.
