DOE Fails To Shake $7.8M URS Claim Over Bond

Law360, New York (August 10, 2011, 4:17 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Energy has failed to win dismissal of a $7.8 million claim from URS Corp. stemming from a dispute with an environmental cleanup subcontractor, according to a decision by the U.S. Civilian Board of Contract Appeals released Wednesday.

The appellant, named in court documents as URS Energy & Construction Inc., wants the DOE to reimburse it for a supersedeas bond it paid after losing a legal dispute with a subcontractor in 2008.
