Ethanol Developer Ends $72M Antitrust Suit

Law360, New York (August 10, 2011, 7:31 PM EDT) -- Empire State Ethanol and Energy LLC on Wednesday closed the door on a $72 million antitrust and breach of contract suit the alternative energy company had brought against a consulting firm and its executives over the launch of a rival outfit.

Empire had accused Albany Renewable Energy LLC, Bio-Pro Resources LLC, and alternative energy consultant BBI International executives Jeff Kistner and Ed Stahl of creating a competing company to win business for a possible new biofuels plant.
