Judge OKs $2M Schulte Roth Award In Belstar Fee Fight

Law360, New York (August 11, 2011, 5:26 PM EDT) -- A New York judge confirmed a $1.7 million arbitration award Thursday for Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP, which alleged former client Belstar Group LLC owed legal fees under an agreement for the firm's work on a government-backed securities financing program.

New York Supreme Court Judge Jeffrey K. Oing said that the standards to toss out an arbitration panel are very onerous and that the three-arbiter panel's unanimous ruling was "highly rational."
