Verizon Wins Injunction Against Striking Workers

Law360, Wilmington (August 11, 2011, 8:56 PM EDT) -- A Delaware judge gave a local unit of Verizon Communications Inc. a court-sanctioned stick Wednesday to fend off striking workers from two unions that it says are using aggressive and illegal tactics in the state.

Chancellor Leo Strine signed off on a preliminary injunction against the Communications Workers of America and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, whose 45,000 Verizon-employed members took to picket lines on Sunday ranging from Massachusetts to Virginia after negotiations for a new contract collapsed.
