Trinity Mirror Distances Itself From Hacking Scandal

Law360, New York (August 12, 2011, 3:27 PM EDT) -- The British newspaper group Trinity Mirror PLC said Friday that its senior executives and journalists haven’t engaged in phone hacking or bribery of the type at the center of the scandal that brought down News Corp.’s News of the World tabloid.

In its half-year financial report, Trinity Mirror said it received written confirmation from its editorial brass that neither they nor their staff “intercepted any telephone messages, made payments to serving police officers or accessed the police national computer” since 2000.
