Encore Units Settle Suit Over Robo-Signed Docs For $5M

Law360, New York (August 12, 2011, 9:23 PM EDT) -- Despite opposition from 38 state attorneys general, an Ohio federal judge approved a $5.2 million settlement on Friday resolving class action allegations that Encore Capital Group Inc. subsidiaries' alleged "robo-signed" debt collection affidavits violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
