Investment Co. Sanctioned For Failing To Produce Docs

Law360, New York (August 15, 2011, 9:58 PM EDT) -- An Illinois federal judge on Monday sanctioned Brewer Investment Group LLC and others involved in an alleged $5.6 million promissory note fraud for not handing over documents requested by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

U.S. District Judge Blanche M. Manning adopted a magistrate judge's recommendation holding BIG, its CEO Steven Brewer, its Chief Operating Officer Adam Erickson and two Brewer-related entities in contempt for failing to provide documents and for not preserving documents as instructed in an Oct. 29 order.
