AllianceBernstein Claims Ex-Adviser Poached Clients

Law360, New York (August 15, 2011, 9:55 PM EDT) -- Investment manager AllianceBernstein LP accused a former employee of breach of contract Monday in New York court, claiming he resigned without notice and stole company trade secrets in order to solicit clients for his new employer, Robert W. Baird & Co.

Christopher MacFarlane worked as a financial adviser at AllianceBernstein from 2006 until Friday, when he abruptly resigned in breach of an employment contract that required at least 60 days' prior notice and immediately began soliciting his former clients, according to the suit.
