Hedge Fund Sues To Force Ryerson Annual Meeting

Law360, New York (June 11, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Harbinger Capital Partners filed a lawsuit Monday seeking to force metals maker Ryerson Inc. to hold its annual shareholders meeting, at which the hedge fund manager plans to launch its bid to replace a majority of the members on the company's board of directors.

Harbinger, through two of its hedge funds, filed a lawsuit in Delaware Chancery Court claiming Ryerson is breaking state law by failing to hold an annual meeting or to have an election for directors within 13 months of the company's last annual...
