Google Has Made Privacy Strides, But Work Remains: UK

Law360, New York (August 16, 2011, 2:48 PM EDT) -- The U.K.'s data protection watchdog said Tuesday that Google must continue to evolve its privacy policies in the wake of the Street View scandal, though it acknowledged the tech giant had made several improvements.

The Information Commissioner's Office announced the results of an audit it conducted in July to make sure Google has strengthened its privacy policies as promised in an agreement signed with the ICO last year, after Google Street View cars were found to be capturing and storing personal information from wireless networks....
