Biosite Countersues Roche In Dispute Over Diagnostic Test Patents

Law360 (December 1, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- Medical device maker Biosite Inc. has countersued Roche Diagnostics Corp. in the two rivals’ dispute over patents for technologies used in diagnostic tests.

Biosite’s lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, alleges that Roche Diagnostics Corp. and Roche Diagnostics GmbH are infringing two patents, U.S. Patent 6,174,686 and U.S. Patent 5,795,725, owned by Biosite.

The patents relate to methods for the measurement of cardiac troponin forms, according to Biosite.
