St. Louis Transit Co. Sued Over Credit Card Receipts

Law360, New York (August 16, 2011, 5:49 PM EDT) -- St. Louis’ public transportation administrator was hit with a putative class action Monday by ticket buyers who claim the transit system left them vulnerable to fraud and identity theft by including credit and debit card expiration dates on ticket receipts.

The Bi-State Development Agency of the Missouri-Illinois Metropolitan District, which does business as Metro Transit, violated the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act by including expiration dates on its receipts despite having received several reminders to amend their receipt system, the customers say.
