GeoStar Can't Buck Horse Breeding Fraud Suit

Law360, New York (August 17, 2011, 2:37 PM EDT) -- A Kentucky federal judge on Monday denied GeoStar Corp.'s motion to dismiss a fraud suit brought by investors who claim the company and its executives scammed them out of millions of dollars through a mare-leasing scheme.

Chief Judge Joseph M. Hood of federal district court in Lexington, Ky., found the investors had made precise enough allegations against David and Spencer Plummer, the heads of GeoStar, as well as alleged accomplices John Parrott and Thom Robinson, for their claims under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act,...
