N.C. Board Files Suit Over BAR/BRI Questions

Law360, New York (June 11, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Already under fire over its bar review services, legal publisher Thomson Corp. has been hit with a new lawsuit that accuses the company of illegally lifting copyrighted material from the North Carolina bar exam and distributing the information as part of its review offerings.

On Friday, the North Carolina Board of Law Examiners slapped Thomson and subsidiary West Publishing Corp. with a suit, alleging that the pair had violated its intellectual property through their bar examination preparation course, known as BAR/BRI.
