Court Upholds $95M Jury Verdict For SynQor

Law360, New York (August 17, 2011, 9:10 PM EDT) -- A Texas federal judge on Wednesday upheld a $95 million jury award for SynQor Inc., ruling the electronics companies found infringing SynQor's power converter patents had provided no justification to do so.

U.S. District Judge T. John Ward denied the defendants' requests for judgment as a matter of law, rejecting their claims that the patents-in-suit are invalid due to anticipation, obviousness and lack of written description.
