Oil Recycler Settles Texas Pollution Suit For $3M

Law360, New York (August 18, 2011, 5:55 PM EDT) -- The head of an oil recycling company will pay more than $3 million in penalties and attorneys' fees to resolve a Texas county's lawsuit claiming the company's improper waste handling polluted a local bayou system, authorities said Thursday.

Once approved, the settlement will close the lawsuit that the Office of the Harris County Attorney brought three years ago against U.S. Oil Recovery LP and its chief operating officer Klaus Genssler, who were accused of operating an illegal waste processing and oil recycling facility in Pasadena, Texas....
