Medtronic Asserts Corrected Claims Against Cordis

Law360, New York (June 12, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In the latest development in the legal battle between Medtronic Inc. and Cordis Corp. over the lucrative market for drug-coated coronary stents, Medtronic has filed an infringement suit against Cordis based on a patent that was formally corrected by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office at the end of May.

Medtronic filed the suit Monday in federal court in eastern Texas, alleging that the manufacture and sale of Cordis' Cypher and Velocity stents infringes the corrected claims of U.S. Patent Number 6,881,223 B2.
