Apple Can't Shake $8M Verdict In Playlist IP Fight

Law360, New York (August 19, 2011, 9:23 PM EDT) -- A federal judge in Texas on Friday denied Apple Inc.'s challenge to an $8 million verdict for Personal Audio LLC in a suit over patents for playlist technology used in iPhones, iPads and iPods, finding the jury award reasonable.

U.S. District Judge Ron Clark rejected two motions Apple made during trial for judgments on damages, accusing Personal Audio's damages expert of improperly including certain figures into his calculations.
