GAO Upholds $18M State Dept. Security Contract

Law360, New York (August 22, 2011, 7:09 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Government Accountability Office on Friday said the U.S. Department of State had reasonably evaluated bids for an $18 million support services contract, affirming the award to Veteran Solutions Inc. and denying a protest from losing bidder BayFirst Solutions LLC.

BayFirst claimed the State Department unfairly rejected its bid for a Bureau of Diplomatic Services contract for overseas security upgrades and awarded the contract to Veteran Solutions simply for complying with proposal requirements, according to the decision.
