Judge Says Ventas Can Collect $102M Award From HCP

Law360, New York (August 22, 2011, 10:10 PM EDT) -- A Kentucky federal judge ruled Monday that Ventas Inc. can begin to collect its $101.6 million jury award against HCP Inc. for interfering with Ventas' 2007 acquisition of Sunrise Senior Living Real Estate Investment Trust.

U.S. District Judge John G. Heyburn II said that given the Sixth Circuit's affirmation of the verdict, Ventas is entitled to the $101.6 million in compensatory damages awarded by a jury in 2009.
