Yalies' Data Up On Google For Months, School Warns

Law360, New York (August 23, 2011, 3:52 PM EDT) -- Yale University said Tuesday that the names and Social Security numbers of 43,000 people affiliated with the Ivy League institution were inadvertently made searchable on Google for a period of 10 months.

The university said that it had secured the file with the information on it and that Google Inc. had told the school the data could no longer be found through its widely used search engine. There is no evidence the data has been abused, Yale said.
