School District, 4th Student Settle Over Webcam Scandal

Law360, New York (August 23, 2011, 5:12 PM EDT) -- A Pennsylvania school district has settled a fourth student's claim over a webcam spying scandal, agreeing Monday to pay the student's family $10,000 to settle out of court.

The Lower Merion School District, outside Philadelphia, voted to approve the settlement at a meeting Monday night, district spokesman Doug Young told Law360 on Tuesday. The agreement was worked out between the student's family and the district's attorneys, he said.
