Ameren Reservoir Breach Looks Fishy To PSC

Law360, New York (June 12, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Just weeks after Missouri's attorney general dropped a criminal investigation into a 2005 reservoir breach, the staff of the Public Service Commission made plans to open its own probe into alleged suspicious activity by utility Ameren Corp.

The Commission's aims, announced Friday, come as attorney general Jay Nixon and the state's Departments of Natural Resources and Conservation continue their settlement negotiations with Ameren over the collapse of its Taum Sauk reservoir, which destroyed adjacent Johnsons' Shut-Ins State Park.
