Microsoft, Yahoo Dodge Suits Over Blocked Spam Mail

Law360, New York (August 24, 2011, 6:12 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge on Tuesday dismissed suits accusing Microsoft Corp. and Yahoo Inc. of putting e-commerce development company Holomaxx Technologies Corp. at a competitive disadvantage by blocking its emails, finding Holomaxx had failed to support its claims.

U.S. District Judge Jeremy Fogel said in two separate but identical decisions that Holomaxx had failed to show that Microsoft and Yahoo acted in bad faith in blocking the emails as harrassment, and so were protected under the Communications Decency Act.
