Siding Maker Can't Shake Paint-Peeling Class Action

Law360, Washington (August 24, 2011, 5:21 PM EDT) -- Gentek Building Products Inc. lost a motion Tuesday to toss a putative class action in Ohio alleging it offered inadequate remedies to fix widespread defects in steel and aluminum siding that caused paint to peel despite a supposed lifetime warranty.

The plaintiffs, homeowners and residents of North Dakota, Wisconsin and Idaho, purchased exterior siding manufactured, marketed, and distributed by Gentek and fellow defendant Associated Materials LLC.
