Copyright Cos. Satisfy EC's Call For Competition

Law360, New York (June 13, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Following through on an investigation it launched last year, the European Commission reached an agreement Wednesday with the slew of copyright companies contained within the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers over antitrust issues in CISAC's copyright management model contract.

CISAC publicly outlined the changes it had made to the model contract, upon which the coalition's member societies' own contracts are based, in response to the statement of objections it was issued last January.
