Asbestos Defendants Fire Back In Subpoena War

Law360, New York (June 13, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A group of defendants in an asbestos products liability class action have opposed the plaintiffs' efforts to quash several subpoenas of doctors and lawyers related to the discovery process.

“Certain defendants” comprising over two dozen companies accused of negligence, carelessness, and/or recklessness in not limiting the plaintiffs' exposure to asbestos, said in a memorandum filed Monday that a motion by the plaintiffs to overturn various subpoenas served by the defendants' attorneys ought to be denied.
