Smartphone Hackers Targeting Android, McAfee Says

Law360, Washington (August 25, 2011, 1:16 PM EDT) -- Hackers of mobile devices are now going after Google Inc.'s Android operating system software more than any other target, computer security company McAfee Inc. said in a report Tuesday.

As of the first quarter of 2011, Android was the third most targeted platform for “mobile malware,” but the operating system jumped to No. 1 in the second quarter, according to McAfee's threats report for the second quarter of 2011. The second place system, Java Micro Edition, saw only a third as much activity.
