Rambus Drops Memory Patent Dispute Against IBM

Law360, New York (August 25, 2011, 4:10 PM EDT) -- Chip manufacturer Rambus Inc. on Thursday dropped its lawsuit that asked a California federal court to block the approval of an IBM Corp. patent on memory controller technology.

U.S. District Judge Jeffrey S. White approved a joint request from Rambus and IBM to dismiss the suit. Court filings show that they had been in settlement talks for several months, but their request did not indicate whether a settlement had actually been reached.
