AshBritt Can't Shake $2M Katrina Cleanup Contract Suit

Law360, New York (August 25, 2011, 6:35 PM EDT) -- A federal judge refused Thursday to toss breach of contract claims against AshBritt Inc., but denied JGT Inc.'s request for punitive damages in its suit alleging AshBritt violated an agreement to give it a cut of a government contract to clean up Hurricane Katrina debris.

JGT filed the suit in Florida federal court in February, claiming AshBritt had not properly portioned out work provided by a cleanup contract it had with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, resulting in JGT's loss of $1.9 million in profits....
