Judge Still Won't Nix Arbitration In Phone Keyboard Row

Law360, New York (August 25, 2011, 9:01 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge on Thursday refused for the second time in three months to vacate two arbitration awards granted in a patent, antitrust and contract dispute between Research In Motion Ltd. and rival Eatoni Ergonomics Inc. over the development of a cellphone keyboard.

U.S. District Judge William H. Pauley, who denied Eatoni's first motion to vacate in June, reiterated that arbitration awards from March 2007 and June 2010 enforcing a prior agreement between the companies would stay in place.
