ITC Takes Up InterDigital, Rovi Patent Probes

Law360, New York (August 25, 2011, 7:30 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission voted Thursday to investigate complaints from InterDigital Communications LLC over its 3G wireless patents and from Rovi Corp. over its television guide technology.

The agency agreed to look into InterDigital's claims that Nokia Corp., Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. and ZTE Corp. have imported 3G wireless products that infringe seven of the King of Prussia, Pa.-based company's patents. The ITC also said it would examine Rovi's allegations that Sharp Corp. and two of its subsidiaries import televisions and digital video recorder products...
