TriCentury Denied Early Win Over Former GC

Law360, New York (August 29, 2011, 2:31 PM EDT) -- A Texas federal judge on Friday refused to rule in favor of TriCentury Corp. in a case against its former outside general counsel, who was sentenced to prison for stealing $2.5 million in investments meant to fund a proposed bank that never materialized.

U.S. District Judge Ron Clark denied TriCentury’s motions for summary judgment on its cross-claims against Kansas attorney Clifford R. Roth. Investors sued Roth and TriCentury in 2008 after Roth allegedly stole money that was supposed to have been earmarked for TriCentury’s proposed bank....
