Businessman Told To Pay $3M Over La. Bribe Scheme

Law360, New York (August 31, 2011, 7:03 PM EDT) -- A Louisiana businessman convicted of funneling bribes to New Orleans technology officials in exchange for city business was ordered Tuesday to pay more than $3.2 million in forfeiture for illegal gains.

The personal money judgment that U.S. District Judge Eldon Fallon handed down against Mark St. Pierre will be part of the eventual sentence the court is scheduled to issue Thursday and has no bearing on the amount of restitution that could be imposed, authorities said.
