La. Must Respond To BP Document Requests: Judge

Law360, New York (September 1, 2011, 4:48 PM EDT) -- A Louisiana federal judge on Thursday ordered the Louisiana attorney general’s office to comply with BP PLC’s discovery requests in the Deepwater Horizon oil spill multidistrict litigation, saying the state was dragging its feet on the issue.

BP claimed in a letter to U.S. Magistrate Judge Sally Shushan last week that the state had responded to five of 70 document requests, prompting the judge to tell the attorney general’s office to explain its actions.
