Dyncorp Must Cover Employee Shot In Kosovo: 2nd Circ.

Law360, New York (September 2, 2011, 4:37 PM EDT) -- The Second Circuit on Friday affirmed a decision that Dyncorp International Inc. and Fidelity & Casualty Co. of New York must provide disability benefits to a former contractor after she was demoted from her Kansas Department of Corrections job following a shooting in Kosovo.

The administrative law judge had awarded benefits to Elizabeth A. Mechler based on her psychological impairment on remand, after first declaring that her claim was untimely because it came more than a year after her return to Kansas.
