Applebee’s Owners Settle Sexual Harassment Suit For $1M

Law360, San Diego (September 6, 2011, 8:48 PM EDT) -- Two companies that operate an Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar in North Dakota agreed Thursday to pay $1 million to resolve the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission's proposed class action alleging female employees were sexually harassed by a former restaurant manager.

A North Dakota federal court closed the case after Food Management Investors Inc. and Apple Core Enterprises Inc. entered into a consent decree with the agency. Under the terms, the companies consented to shell out $1 million in compensatory damages to 17 female former employees,...
